Privacy Policy

The short version

Quotia has no accounts, no signup and no API keys, so we hold no name, email address or password for anyone using the API. What we do collect is ordinary web server logging and website analytics, described below.

Who we are

Quotia is an independent project operated by the developer of this site. For any question about this policy or your data, write to bieefilled@kwenuai.com.ng.

What we collect

API requests. Calling /v1/quote requires no identification. Requests are logged by the server in the normal course of running a web service. Those logs can include your IP address, the time of the request, the path and query string you requested, your user agent, and the response status.

Website analytics. The website pages load Google Tag Manager, which may load Google Analytics and set cookies in your browser. These record things like the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This measures how the site is used; it is not used to identify you personally.

What we never collect. We do not ask for or store payment details, and we do not have a mechanism to collect them. We do not sell data to anyone.

Cookies

Quotia sets no cookies of its own. Cookies that appear while browsing this site are set by Google Tag Manager and any tags loaded through it. You can block or delete these in your browser settings, or use a content blocker; the site and the API work normally without them. Calling the API directly — with curl, an SDK, or an MCP client — involves no cookies at all.

Third parties who may see your data

Loading a page on this site makes requests to services we do not operate. Each of them necessarily receives your IP address and browser information, and each has its own privacy policy:

• Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, Fonts) — analytics and web fonts.
• jsDelivr and cdnjs — stylesheets and scripts used by the site.

When you use the API, Quotia requests quotes from public quote websites on the server side. Those sites see our server, never you: your IP address is not passed on to them.

How long we keep it

Server logs are retained only as long as they are useful for operating and debugging the service, and are deleted on a rolling basis. Analytics data is retained according to Google's own retention settings for the property.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no account data, in practice this concerns server logs and analytics records. Email bieefilled@kwenuai.com.ng and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Children

Quotia is a developer tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site rather than made quietly.
