Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 September 2026
1. Agreement
These terms cover your use of the Quotia website and API (together, "the Service"). By calling the API or using the site, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Quotia returns quotes as JSON over a public HTTP endpoint and an MCP server. It is offered free of charge, with no account and no API key. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, including introducing paid plans for heavier use. Where a change would break existing integrations, we will give notice on the site before it takes effect.
3. Fair use
There is no published rate limit, which is not an invitation to treat the Service as unlimited. Please keep request volume reasonable, cache responses on your side where you can, and do not run automated traffic that degrades the Service for others. We may block or rate-limit any client that does, without notice.
You also agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or to infringe anyone's rights;
- attempt to breach, probe or disrupt the Service or the infrastructure it runs on;
- resell or redistribute the Service itself as a competing quote API;
- misrepresent the Service as your own product.
4. Quotes and third-party rights
Read this one. Quotia does not own the quotes it returns. They are
collected from public quote websites, and each result carries a source
field identifying where it came from. Quotes, and the works they are drawn from, may
be protected by copyright and by the terms of the site they originate from.
You are responsible for confirming that your intended use is permitted before you publish or redistribute anything you receive from the Service, particularly for commercial use. Attribution alone does not make a use lawful. We make no representation that any quote is accurately attributed, correctly transcribed, or free of third-party rights.
5. Availability
There is no uptime commitment and no service level agreement. The Service depends on third-party websites that may be slow, change without warning, or become unavailable, and results are collected live at request time. Responses may therefore vary between identical requests, and may be empty.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Quotia and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Your content and integrations
You keep all rights to whatever you build with the Service. You are responsible for your own application, for what you display to your users, and for complying with the law wherever you operate.
9. Suspension
We may restrict or block access to the Service where use breaches these terms, threatens its stability, or exposes us to legal risk.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.
